METrans Introduces the Micro First Responder
Designed To ProvideImmediate Response To Employee/Customer On Site Injuries/Medical Emergencies
In office, manufacturing, warehouse, and other business environments, medical emergencies happen. Often, the location of the person suffering such injuries is remote and not readily accessible to Paramedics, Fire Department or other Emergency Personnel. Our response was to design and manufacture the MFR Cart that benefits from the same access capability and maneuverability as the METrans MT700.01 Personnel and Light Burden Transport Vehicle thereby permitting medical personnel immediate access to address and stabilize any medical issue. Having the ability to quickly address and stabilize medical emergencies can save lives.

We consulted with a physician as to the needed capability of the MFR Cart. It is a fact that every health care professional has their own priorities as to equipment and the function and purpose of such equipment in the context of emergency medical response. This need for flexibility and adaptability guided our development of the MFR Cart. Along with prompt access and maneuverability in tight spaces, we established the following criteria in developing the MFR Cart: (1) identify basic emergency equipment which must be transported by the MFR Cart; (2) provide abundant space for securely carrying custom equipment determined to be critical by a first responder using the MFR Cart; (3) define the scope of medical emergencies which must be addressed by the MFR Cart. Next, we consulted with METrans engineers as to design and capability suggested by the consulting physician, while maintaining METrans signature maneuverability and access to physically tight locations, and flexibility for the specific health care professional to adapt the MFR Cart to their specified use.

Each MFR Cart is designed with 4 wheel steering to operate as a trailer for the MT700.01 or as an independent Cart, controlled by a storable steering tiller. Extensive testing was performed to confirm the MFR Cart, operating as a Trailer or Cart had good stability and maneuverability in the context of potential emergency environments.
Each MFR Cart is equipped with a Red LED flashing emergency beacon, and an optional police/fire warning siren to announce its presence and function.
Each MFR Cart is standardized to carry the following Emergency Equipment: Folding Back and BodyBoard; Head and Neck Stabilizer and Brace; Folding Wheeled Gurney; Folding, Wheeled Infusion Trolley; heart defibrillator; quick release, M7/9 and E sized oxygen bottle holders; large open storage bin, and metal hangers for Paramedic Trauma bags, hard side trauma bags, and back packs (depending on bag size, up to 6 standard large bags); Computer/IPad shelf: “deep V” shelf for miscellaneous small items needing quick access; and Bungie Cord holes for securing and stabilizing loads.
